Our Customization Process

At DABLE, every custom item is thoughtfully designed and produced with care. Our structured process ensures clarity, accuracy, and a seamless experience for individuals and groups ordering custom jackets, apparel, stoles, and pins.

Before submitting an order request, please review the full process outlined below so you understand how your order will move from concept to completion.

Quote Review & Response

Once we receive your inquiry, our team will review the details provided.

Our typical quote preparation time is:

3–5 business days (Monday–Friday).

Your quote will be delivered through our customer portal system.

Please note:

Quotes are not provided during consultations.

Quotes are non-negotiable and are based on:

  • design complexity

  • item type

  • quantity

  • customization requirements

During high-volume seasons (such as graduation, crossing seasons, and major event periods), quote preparation time may be extended.

Design Consultations (Optional)

If you need assistance developing your concept, Dable offers design consultations.

Consultations are ideal if:

  • You need help refining a design idea

  • You are ordering for a group and want guidance on customization

  • You want to explore creative concepts before submitting an inquiry

Please note:

  • DABLE does not provide freestyle design services without a consultation or submitted concept.

  • Consultation sessions focus on collaborative brainstorming and direction.

  • Consultations do not include custom artwork creation or mockup designs.

Consultation Details:

  • A consultation fee applies

  • Consultation fees are non-refundable

  • After the consultation, you will receive a store credit or gift card equal to the consultation fee that can be applied toward your order

Consultations help us understand your vision so we can collaborate on creating something unique for your project.

Submit Your Custom Order Inquiry

To begin the process, you must submit a Customization Inquiry Form through our website.

This form allows us to collect important information about your project, including:

  • Item type (jacket, apparel, stole, or pin)

  • Design concept

  • colors and materials

  • quantity

  • sizes

  • timeline

  • artwork or logos

To ensure we fully understand your vision, a rough sketch or reference image of your design concept is required.

Important:

We will not review or process inquiries without a concept sketch or visual reference.

Providing detailed information helps us deliver an accurate quote and design plan.

Receiving Your Quote

Your custom quote will include:

  • Item pricing based on your specifications

  • Estimated production timeline

  • Payment requirements

  • A service contract for signature

  • Important notes regarding your order

A signed contract is required before we provide design services, mockups, or artwork development.

Mockup & Design Process

DABLE does not create mockups or design layouts without payment.

Before we begin design work, you must purchase an initial mockup design.

Mockup Details:

  • Initial mockups are completed within 3–7 business days

  • The mockup fee covers one initial design layout

  • Mockup fees vary depending on the item and design complexity

Your mockup includes:

  • visual layout of your item

  • design placement

  • color representation

  • embroidery or patch placement

Each mockup includes up to three revisions.

Additional revisions beyond three will incur additional design fees.

If your design requires custom artwork creation, additional artwork fees will apply.

Payment Options

DABLE offers two payment structures depending on your project timeline.

Split Payment Option (Group Orders Only)

Available when your order is placed at least 90 days before the project deadline.

Structure:

  • Each group member submits an initial deposit

  • Design layouts are created only for individuals who have paid their deposit

  • A group layout document will be provided to the group contact for review

  • Final payments must be submitted before production begins

Production will not begin until all final payments are received.​

Full Payment Option

If your order is placed within 90 days of the project deadline, full payment is required.

Structure:

  • Full payment must be submitted before design layouts are created

  • Layout documents will be provided for approval

  • Production begins only after approval and payment confirmation

Production Process

Once your design has been approved, your order enters the production phase.

At this stage, a technical production package is created which includes:

  • final approved layouts

  • digitized embroidery or artwork files

  • production specifications

DABLE coordinates directly with its manufacturing partners to produce your items.

For quality control purposes:

  • We do not disclose manufacturer identities

  • We do not allow direct manufacturer-to-customer shipping

This ensures that all items are inspected before delivery.

Production Updates

Customers will receive updates at key milestones:

  • Order has entered production

  • Production has been completed

  • Items are in transit to DABLE

  • Items have been received and are preparing for shipment

All updates are sent through email and the customer portal.

Shipping Process

DABLE offers two shipping options for custom orders.

Single Address Shipping

The entire order is shipped to one designated address.

This option is commonly used for:

  • organizations

  • line groups

  • teams

Shipping Information:

  • Only the group contact provides the shipping address

  • Individual members do not submit shipping information

Shipping carriers may include:

  • UPS

  • FedEx

All items will be labeled for easy distribution among group members.

Individual Shipping

Each item is shipped directly to individual recipients.

Each person provides their own shipping information during the payment process.

Shipping options may include:

  • USPS Priority Mail

  • UPS 2 Day Air

  • UPS Next Day Air

Shipping availability may vary based on delivery location.

Shipping Costs & Tracking

Shipping costs are not included in initial quotes and must be paid separately.

Once your order ships:

  • A tracking number will be sent via email

  • You can monitor delivery status directly with the shipping carrier

DABLE is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers.
